Related by the tradition to the spirituality, the soul has shown, in plenty of its manifestations, a higher strength with its relation with the language. The dialogues with the soul refuse body and spirit in a dignified struggle the platonic allegory of the winged chariot described in “Phaedo”: a controversial handling conditioned by the intelligence and personality.
Something similar happens with the main characters of this exhibition. While sharing the reason and effect: capturing the reality at overwhelming fidelity levels, the gap between them it is the technique they use: the painting, in the case of Salustiano, and the sculpture, with Mario Dilitz. This technical antagonism creates a set that, like the dialogue of Platon, considers about the world of the ideas or about the transcendental power that the souls pursue.
The knowledge base here, it is the memory itself, because it influences directly in the artwork, inspired in the tradition that has spoiled the concept of soul. Greek and the ancient Rome shared the renaissance interest in the ways of the soul; Salustiano, in turn, shows his devotion for the ways of the Renaissance. Similar is the ability of Mario Dilitz to convey a strong sculptural tradition to the conflict field that its shown in this artworks, where a teddy bear held by a child does the same function of containing the spirit as the dying birds hanging from the child’s hand of a Gothic piece.
The dialogue with the soul it is something more that just a reflection about the dichotomy between material and spirit, it also tells us about the gap between the death and the cycles that close in benefit of the new realities.
