This inspired the title Party People, a nod to Afrika Bambaataa's iconic song Planet Rock, which always rings in my head when I think of this piece. The piece captures the essence of a large gathering: a multitude of interactions that continually morph and evolve, together creating a dynamic and changing whole, like life itself. The composition is partially inspired by the works of Pieter Bruegel the Elder and the Younger, celebrating the energy of communal connection. This work is dedicated to all those who gather and those who light the fire so that others may be warmed. It goes out to you, those who make these connections possible. After all, we are social beings at our core.
