Recent Works
David Moreno’s sculptures inhabit a territory between drawing and architecture, between conception and realization. Constructed from intricate networks of steel rods and metal wires, his works seem to emerge from the air, as if they were lines suspended in space.
In Recent Works, Moreno presents a selection of recent sculptures that further develop an investigation he has pursued for more than a decade: the possibility of transforming line into volume and emptiness into matter. Floating houses, stairways leading nowhere, fragmented structures, and imaginary cities compose a visual universe in which architecture abandons its functional logic to become a poetic language.
The artist’s architectural background remains present in every work. Yet rather than designing habitable buildings, Moreno creates mental spaces. His structures suggest pathways, encounters, and invisible connections that function as metaphors for human relationships. Each element appears dependent upon the others, generating a delicate equilibrium between tension and fragility.
The transparency of the materials allows light to pass through the sculptures and project new forms onto their surroundings. In this way, the work extends beyond its physical limits and transforms the exhibition space into a changing experience where matter, void, and shadow participate in a shared construction.
Rather than representing specific places, David Moreno’s sculptures evoke the universal experience of inhabiting, remembering, and connecting. They are architectures of the imagination that invite us to reflect on the visible and invisible bonds through which we build our lives and share our spaces.
